The thing about these conspiracy theories about VAR and rigged draws is that it would take many people to be involved, though just one to whistle blow.

Which is why they're ill thought out bullshit.

Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
Every year big teams struggle against minnows as said minnow play their hearts out against the Big team's experimental formation of B nonregulars on quirky pitches.

They are tricky fixtures. Yes, some of our players played incredibly poorly (didn't they Yarmo?!) but it happens every year to all sorts of clubs. Are we unique in beating ourselves up about it?

Saints are not going to be a pushover, but hopeful we get a result there.

If crap pitches are such a leveller, how did Rice look so good yesterday?

And what about Brooking and Devonshire, whose quality showed on pitches which made yesterday's look close to ideal?

Will be back playing on a carpet with taller stands so the little darlings on thousands of pounds a week for trapping and passing a football should be ok!!

Rigged.........FFS, laughable at best, Southampton is a tough draw though, maybe the toughest of the round, expect saints fans think likewise, should be a good open game, hope we are practicing our penelty taking?

I'd love to believe it ain't rigged . But the amount of luck certain teams have in the draws is ridiculous . The 2017 carabao cup quarter final draw stunk to high heaven . Apparently according to people who witnessed it at the time . We drew Leicester but owing to an internet glitch . It was redrawn and surprise surprise we ended up with man utd away . As the old saying goes if it looks like a duck . And Quacks like a duck it in all probability means it is a duck 🦆 .

Kearley.

Exactly that son.

Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
So many people would have to be in on a fixed draw every year and the fallout would be so bad.

Anyone that thinks it's rigged is a football fan equivalent of a flat earther.

Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
There are only 5 or 6 teams that would be more difficult, plus we’re away which makes it harder. If we play like we did yesterday we’ll get smashed anyway.

GSP

Do you REALLY think VAR was brought in to assist the big clubs?

That viewpoint is beyond juvenille imho.

Didnt really work out Friday night at Old Trafford.

Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
And with VAR brought in to try and ensure the top clubs get the ‘right result’, you can see just how corrupt the game is.

nychammer 5:02 Sun Feb 6
Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
when you see a draw like that its easy to imagine how it could be corrupt. It's almost as if us or soton dont have an easier draw so are being held over to the next round as 'easy pickings' for a top 4 side.

Problem is, it would have to be corruption on a massive scale as it would have to involve all the football personalities they pull in to do the draws being in the know.

Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
These draws are easily fixed . How would the viewer know if it's live or not ? . . Where there's money there's corruption and as long we have a hole up our arse there always will be .

FOMB 4:39 Sun Feb 6
Re: The Emirates FA Cup 5th round draw - Southampton away
Not saying its necessarily fixed (although it wouldn't surprise me) but it would be pretty easy to do.

If they wanted to keep the 'big 6' apart, then all they would have to do is either heat up or chill the balls with their numbers on and draw them separately

Once every four or five years draw a Liverpool vs Man Utd or a Man City vs Chelsea in the 4th round to make it look as if its random
